Back in February, many of us made our annual pilgrimmage to WPPI, a giant photography convention held every year in Vegas. Somewhere between the seminars, workshops, tradeshow and partying, we thought we would sneak in an inspirational wedding photoshoot.

Molly and Melissa organized this photoshoot, drawing inspiration from our fantastic ranch location and the desire to show a laid-back but fashionable wedding. Diana, Alicia and Yazy joined in to shoot film, and our friends at One Fine Day Productions came along to shoot a behind the scenes video.
Since everyone was flying in for this photoshoot – everything we needed – dresses, flowers, tablescape elements – everything – had to fit in our suitcases or be shipped. That restriction certainly informed our choices, and it made the challenge all that more interesting. We knew we wanted cowboy boots and natural elements, and everything else followed from there.
The real issue was flowers – and our solution has become a new favorite go to vendor for me. We chose to use Emplume to create our floral elements which meant they weren’t floral at all. The bouquets, corsage and boutonnieres were all made of feathers, lace, vintage buttons and other millinery. They were fantastic!
Another dimension was added when Miss Pickles Press joined the shoot – and brought with her a fun and quirky set of custom invites and paper suite. I mean, who doesn’t want a feather envelope liner?
